Not a lot of people talk about how rarely men gets shown love, this is why when someone in the opposite gender does do something nice for us, we read too much meaning to it and probably even fall in love with them, not because we're pervert or someone always looking for love, but because we're not used to those kind of things. This was probably why Chris Rock said only women, children and dogs are loved unconditionally.
Men have to work hard for it, but when they do get loved without working hard for it, they feel that person is this one for them, even when they're not.
A good example of what I'm trying to say was something that happened some few days ago. Myself and a friend had gone to this shop to get some food. When we got there, there was already a lady there before us buying somethings so my friend began joking with her, playfully asking her to get him something too. Everyone knew it was a joke, the lady selling the stuff knew, the lady buying the stuff knew, I knew. But surprisingly, just as the girl finished buying her stuff, she had handed her change over to my friend, asking him to get whatever he wanted.
But like I said, this was a joke from my friend, so he had refused to collect the money from her and had even offered to pay for the things she had gotten. Of course she refused but he had insisted and she eventually gave in. The whole time this was happening, I stood behind my friend politely asking both parties to give me the money if none of them wanted it, of course they both ignored me (very rude kids).
Anyways, the whole thing was fun to watch and to me, I felt everything ended the moment she left, but it didn't. When we got home from the shop, I soon found out that my friend was now in love. According to him, he never expected her to pay attention to him, let alone give him the money, so now he wanted to know more about the lady.
But we live in a school environment and the chances of him getting to see her again (based on luck) was next to zero, so I had given him an idea to go meet the lady whose shop we all had met the previous night (the lady is our friend) and ask her to please help us get her number when next she sees that other lady.
At this point, this whole thing was starting to look like an Hollywood high-school romance movie and I could tell my friend was already picturing his happily ever after with this lady. And luckily for him, the lady at the shop delivered, she got the other lady's phone number in less than 24 hours and my friends was over the moon.
He began chatting with this lady but about a week in, after the whole ecstacy had faded away, he soon realized he wasn't that much interested in her, he had only thought he was in love because of the good deed shown towards him by the lady, because he wasn't used to those kind of things.
This same thing happen to many men and most of them don't get so lucky to realize it after a week, some of them end up getting into a relationship with that person and they end up regretting it. Seriously, it's a sad thing for guys to have to feel this way, because some of us want to be loved so badly that we don't even know it until something like this happens to us. And sadly, things doesn't seem to be changing anytime soon.
