Happy Caturday 🐈 and a very warm welcome to my report. The kitties reign supreme on the blockchain today😻, do welcome them😹.
Anyways I have had a great day and once again, am here to break it all down including the trending stories.
Buckle up and let's get cracking 💨.
So this morning I didn't have my usual walk, choosing instead to do some stretching before embarking on some household chores.
Later in the day I followed up on the trending stories, watched some YouTube and some of the action at the Paris Olympics.
It has been nice and sunny 🌞 throughout the day.
I finally ventured out for the slow paced sunset 🌄 walk later in the day. I made a few rounds around the neighborhood ending up at the park 🌲. Then headed back home calling it a day.
So that was the stepping, now let's get into the trending stories.
In the UK, the police are on high alert as far right protesters planned rallies. Another group calling themselves anti racist protesters also held rallies😹.
Pro Palestinian protesters also marched in central London calling for a ceasefire in Gaza.
Speaking of protests, Serbia trending as protests were held in Belgrade against lithium mining proposal. Citizens saying lithium mining will destroy land and lead to poor health outcomes for future generations🙀.
Serbia has one of the largest deposits of lithium which is needed to manufacture batteries for electric vehicles. Let's wait and see where this ends up. Not all money is good money💯.
In the middle east, Gaza trending as Israel committed its biggest massacre yet😭.
Israeli forces bombed a school in Gaza city killing more than one hundred Palestinians during dawn prayers😿.
A horror scene as most of the dead were in pieces, blood splattered all over. Body pieces were collected and tied up in blankets as some of the injured were rushed to hospital🙀.
Israel says Hamas were hiding there but provided no evidence. Netanyahu has been told severally there's no way he can fully destroy Hamas but he still insists🙀.
Several world leaders have condemned that massacre calling for a ceasefire.
Meanwhile, thousands of anti govt protesters are gathering in Tel Aviv. They want Netanyahu and his govt to resign over the handling of the war in Gaza.
Across the pond in the US, the Trump campaign are saying their internal messages have been hacked by Iranian operatives🙀.
Further down, Brazil trending as the blackbox of yesterday's flight crash was recovered.
We will probably know why the plane lost altitude and crashed into a residential neighborhood killing all 62 on board😿.
Finally, some Olympics news. Kenyan marathon runner Eliud Kipchoge failed to finish the race which was later won by an Ethiopian. Kenya won a bronze in that one.
In the mens 800 metres, Kenya won gold 🏅. Faith Kipyegon won gold in the women's 1,500 metres finals. She has now won gold in that race in three consecutive olympics, breaking the record while at it. Congratulations to her💯.
China and USA have the most medals but am sure Kenya should be number 1 in Africa 😹.
