Happy Monday 🎉 and a very warm welcome to my world 😊. We are onto a new week and hopefully you are having a great day this far. Mine has been ok and as the day draws to a close, am raring to go with some of the day's trending news and my stepping activities. Thank you for stopping by yet again and let's get cracking 💨.
So I had two major walks, starting off early with fast paced morning session. I brisk walked around the neighbourhood. At least today the sun was out on a beautiful Monday morning with an amazing fresh breeze🍃. Then I was back indoors for the usual household chores. later in the afternoon, I stopped by the shopping center then was back home for some cooking followed by the usual nap. In between I did check out some trending news and watched some you tube. Finally I finished off the day with the slow paced evening walk in the cool evening breeze.
So what's been trending. Locally, the usual political shenanigans kept going 😹. Otherwise a quiet day,
Globally, the devastation in Gaza kept going. Airstrikes in Rafa killed at least 8 people😿. More bad news as Israeli military proposed evacuation plan as PM Netanyahu vowed to push for ground offensive in Rafa. The fear is that a ground offensive will kill lots of civilians as Rafa is congested with about 1.5 million people.
The royal Jordanian army did a good thing air dropping aid packages down to civilians in Gaza mostly along the coast from their aeroplanes💯
Also trending, Israel has struck targets deep in Lebanon after Hezbollah downed one of its drones.
Trending in Europe, Russia is advancing as it captured another village in eastern Ukraine🙀.
Also trending, french president Emmanuel Macron is hosting other western leaders in a bid to bolster support for Ukraine especially in supplies of ammunition.
Meanwhile Hungary has ratified Sweden's bid to join NATO.
Still in Europe, Israel has filed a report with the ICJ about measures taken to comply with the interim ruling last month.
Today was also the last day of the ICJ hearing on the legality of Israel's occupation of Palestinian territories and Golan heights. The judges are being urged to declare the occupation illegal.
Across the pond in the US, a shocking incident, US airman died after setting himself on fire outside the Israeli embassy. Aaron Bushnell yelled " free Palestine" then lit himself on fire near the embassy in Washington DC🙀.
