Hello Everyone,
Happy Tuesday 🎉 and a very warm welcome to my world 😊. It's been another wonderful and active day stepping it out. As always thank you for being here and let's quickly take a look at how my day has been including some of the trending stories. Here we go again 💨.
So just like yesterday, I started the day with a few rounds of brisk walking 👣 around the neighborhood 🌲. A nice session and then I was back indoors for some resting and the usual house chores.
Later in the afternoon I stopped by the city centre for a couple of errands before heading back home.
I later had my usual nap and then woke up to some cooking and news. Next it was time for the sunset walk, that went well and I made it back home safe and sound. To finish off let's quickly look at the trending stories of the day.
Locally, the usual political shenanigans 😹 kept going, otherwise a quiet day.
Globally, focus still on Gaza where war is raging. Israel has intensified it's attack in southern Gaza. Israel says troops are in the heart of Khan Younis after heavy bombing🙀.
So far, more than 16,200 Palestinians have been killed since the conflict started😭. That number could even be higher many bodies remain buried in the rubble. It's always a desperate situation as people dig into the rubble with bare hands after each bombing😿.
Also trending, Christians in Bethlehem in the occupied west bank say they will skip Xmas celebrations in solidarity with Gaza. No Xmas tree 🌲 or decorations. In fact the nativity scene placed baby Jesus in rubble 🙀.
Israeli raids in the occupied west bank have seen 260 Palestinians killed and over 300 jailed since October 7. Israeli settlers are also doing the most in attacking Palestinians.
In response, trending across the pond, US has imposed visa sanctions on extremist Israeli settlers for attacks in the occupied west bank. US officials say visas will be refused for any Israeli settler that attacks Palestinians.
Back to Gaza, Hamas have fired several rockets into Israel🙀. Several people were injured in Ashkelon as rockets hit residential areas. Sirens heard in Tel Aviv as most of the rockets were shot down and others left to fall and explode in open areas. Authorities advised residents to remain in shelters.
Finally, leaders of of the six gulf countries have met in Doha for their annual GCC summit with Gaza topping the agenda. They condemned Israel for the ongoing bombing urging Israel to come back to the negotiating table to broker a permanent ceasefire.
Turkish president Erdogan was a guest at the talks, also calling for a permanent ceasefire.
