Happy Monday 🎉 and a very warm welcome to my world 😊. We are onto a new week and hopefully you are having a great day this far. Mine has been ok and as the day draws to a close, am raring to go with some of the day's trending news and my stepping activities. Thank you for stopping by yet again and let's get cracking 💨.
So I had two major walks, starting off early with fast paced morning session. I brisk walked around the neighbourhood. At least today the sun was out on a beautiful Monday morning with an amazing fresh breeze🍃. Then I was back indoors for the usual household chores. later in the afternoon, I stopped by the shopping center then was back home for some cooking followed by the usual nap. In between I did check out some trending news and watched some you tube. Finally I finished off the day with the slow paced evening walk in the cool evening breeze.
So what's been trending. Locally, the usual political shenanigans kept going 😹. Otherwise a quiet day,
Globally, Gaza trending as the situation gets worse. As of today 2,808 dead including over a thousand children😭. More than ten thousand injured even as hospitals are overwhelmed. There's a danger of losing the injured as supplies and medicines running out fast🙀.
Thousands have gathered at Gaza Egypt border hoping to leave but the border still shut😡. Meanwhile Israel is evacuating towns near Gaza as it prepares for a land invasion🙀.
Hamas on the other hand are still firing barrages of rockets into southern Israel😿. In Israel death toll stands at 1,400😭. Hamas are holding 200 to 250 Israeli and foreign captives. They have said they will release them when Israel free all Palestinians held in Israeli jails🙀.
Also trending, US secretary of state Anthony Blinken is back to Israel after speaking to regional leaders in Qatar, UAE Saudi Arabia and Egypt. Let's hope some sort of ceasefire can be reached 💯.
Across the pond in the US, a 71 year old man stabbed a six year old Palestinian Muslim boy to death in a hate crime related to the ongoing war in the middle east🙀. He also seriously wounded the boy's mother😡. This happened in Illinois, my sincere condolences to the bereaved families everywhere 😭.
On the other side, China trending as Putin is making a key trip, that will seek to shore up an alliance against the west and celebrate China Russia ties😹.
Finally, Daniel Noboa has been elected Ecuador's youngest president at 35🎊. Congratulations to him🎉🥳. He however has a herculean job ahead of him. He has promised a tough line on violent crimes and cocaine. Wishing him the very best💯.
