Hello everyone 👋,
Happy hump day 😎🎉 and a very warm welcome to my world 😊. Another wonderful and active day is fading away fast. Hopefully you are all having a wonderful midweek as we get into October. Before bedtime 😴 let's quickly take a look at how my day has been and share some of the trending stories. Thank you for stopping by and lets take it away 💨.
I kicked off the day with a few rounds of brisk walking around the neighbourhood. It was a drizzly morning as I made my way. A short walk that I enjoyed and then I was back indoors thirty minutes later. I then rested for a while, caught up with emails, watched the news and then the usual chores around the house.
My next stepping came later in the afternoon going to the city centre for some errands. A beautiful sunny 🌞 day had emerged as I made my way. It was nap time when I got back indoors, I woke up some time early evening and got on with the cooking, watching a little bit of news and youtube, checking out other hive posts.
Next came the evening or sunset walk, it looked like it would rain but it didn't and I made it back home safe and sound. Now let's quickly look at what has been trending in the news today.
Locally, the usual political shenanigans kept going😹, the president has today reshuffled his cabinet. People also criticizing him for the decision to send Kenyan police to Haiti🙀, seems so ridiculous as Kenya is miles away from Haiti, why didn't he let US send their troops there and what money do we even have to fund this?
Globally Ukraine trending, as Russia's war grinds on, is global support for Ukraine waning? Experts say Kyiv is likely worried as Slovakia voted in a pro Russia politician, Poland dropped aid and the US wavers🙀.
However, today the US send to Ukraine, Iranian weapons and ammunition seized by US naval force enroute to Yemen last year. They were meant for houthi rebels but now they are for Ukraine😹.
Still in Europe, France trending as Paris deals with a bedbug infestation on public transport and public places such as cinemas🙀. Be careful if you are headed there😹. In the UK, PM Rishi Sunak has cancelled phase two of the high speed train 🚆 project connecting London and Manchester, citing ridiculously high costs🙀.
Let's go to the middle east, Israel trending as Palestinian prisoners went on a solidarity hunger strike. The 1300 prisoners are detained by Israel with no charge🙀.
Also trending, Israel arrests five in occupied east Jerusalem as viral video showed the five spitting on christian pilgrims, they also spat at the doors of a church🙀.
Across the pond in the US, political shenanigans as house speaker Kevin McCarthy was narrowly voted out yesterday😹. He says he will not run again as republicans plan to hold a vote for a new speaker next week.
Finally in crazy weather, a mass of salt water from Gulf of Mexico is creeping up drought stricken Mississippi river. The situation threatens drinking water supplies, infrastructure and farmers who irrigate with river water🙀. Let's hope the rain comes soon so the river will flow into the ocean and not vice versa.
