Happy hump day 😎🎉 and a very warm welcome to my world 😊. Another wonderful and active day is fading away fast and so is September. Before bedtime 😴 let's quickly take a look at how my day has been and share some of the trending stories. Thank you for stopping by and let's get it done 💨.
I kicked off the day with a few rounds of brisk walking around the neighbourhood. It was a beautiful sunny 🌞 morning as I made my way. A short walk that I enjoyed and then I was back indoors thirty minutes later. I then rested for a while, caught up with emails, watched the news and then the usual chores around the house.
My next stepping came later in the afternoon going to the city centre for some errands. This time a cloudy day as I made my way. It was nap time when I got back indoors, I woke up some time early evening and got on with the cooking, watching a little bit of news and youtube .Next came the evening or sunset walk, it looked like it would rain but it didn't and I made it back home safe and sound. Now let's quickly look at what has been trending in the news today.
Locally, the usual political shenanigans kept going😹, then celebrations as Kenya, Uganda and Tanzania won the rights to host AFCON 2027🎊🎉.
On the continent Niger trending as the french ambassador finally left the country🙀. The military leaders had asked him to leave but Macron had asked him to stay put since the military leaders had no authority but seems like they won. Next out is french soldiers based in the country, they have been ordered out too.
In the middle east, Iraq trending as a fire at a wedding celebration killed 93 people and injured several🙀. My sincere condolences to the bereaved families 😭. 9 people have been arrested as investigations has began into the cause.
Let's go to Europe where Ukraine trending as it dealt a crippling blow to the Black sea fleet leadership deep inside Crimea. Reportedly killing many officers at their headquarters🙀.
Across the pond in the US, Mexican president has called for a meeting of foreign ministers from Latin American countries. This after an influx of migrants entering the US doubled and tripled over the last few days🙀.
Down in the south, Colombia trending as protesters gathered in Bogota in support of president Petro's social and economic reforms. Indigenous people, unions, students and civil society organizations were protesting together.
Finally, US soldier Travis King who crossed into north Korea in July is back in US custody in south Korea😹. He escaped into the North claiming racism, mistreatment and inhumane conditions🙀.
