Hello everyone π,
TGIF β¨ and a very warm welcome to my world π. This week has just flown by and alas the weekend is here yet againπΉ. As always I am so grateful for this day. It's been wonderful stepping it out π―, now that it's almost bedtime π€ let's quickly take a look at how my day has been and also share some of the trending stories. As always thank you for reading and let's take it away π¨.
So I started the day with some brisk walking around the neighbourhood. A nice short walk, t hen I was back indoors for some resting and some of the little household chores here and there. Later in the afternoon I had to get something to cook from the shopping centre. Then back home I squeezed in the usual nap before the evening set in. Next came the slow paced evening walking session enjoying the cool breezeπ. Throughout the day I have been following up on the trending news, that's next.
Locally, a rather quiet day except for the usual political shenanigans πΉ.
Globally, let's start in the middle east. Israel trending as the military conducted air attacks on the blockaded Gaza strip, where protesters have had confrontations for days with Israeli troops along the separation fence. They also fired at protesters injuring more than 30π.
Speaking of Israel, PM Netanyahu has spoken for the first time since he took office at the UN assembly in New York. This as his far right govt pushes for a limit to supreme court powers and expansion of illegal settlementsπΏ.
Still in the US, Biden has announced the creation of a new white house office focused on gun violence prevention. At least 25,198 people have been killed as a result of gun violence in the US this yearπ‘. It's crazy, let's hope this helps.
Up in Canada, president Zelensky joined PM Justin Trudeau for a historic second parliamentary address. He has been promised more military support π―.
Across the pond, Ukraine missile strikes have hit Russia's Blacksea naval base in Crimea, they shot down some of the missiles but damage has been done. I guess a taste of their own medicineπΉ.
Then Pope Francis has slammed the indifference towards migrants arriving in Europe by sea. He was speaking in Marseille, saying all 27 EU countries should share them equally, hopefully they are listening, but I think notπΉ.
Finally, Yerevan trending as protesters were out calling for the resignation of their PM. They accuse him of mishandling the conflict in Nagorno karabakh and not defending Armenians in that region from Azerbaijan. Many residents of that breakaway region say they cannot conceive any form of safe reintegration into Azerbaijanπ. A difficult situation but all's well that ends wellπ―.
Anyway, allow me to stop here for today, but do watch out for furry boy BobπΉ and yours truly tomorrow on an amazing Caturday π. Until then stay safe, take care and adiosπππ Hakuna Matata π
