I am definitely grateful for this day and as it draws to a close, it's time to take a peek into how my stepping went and also share some of the trending stories I came across. Come on, let's take it away 💨.
So as usual I had two major walks just like yesterday, starting off with the fast paced brisk walk around the neighbourhood. Then I was back indoors for the usual household chores and a little bit of resting. The afternoon saw me walk to the shopping centre for some groceries. As always I squeezed in my usual nap before the evening set in. Then it was time for the slow paced evening walk enjoying the cool evening breeze🍃. Meanwhile in between the day I had been watching the trending stories on the news and also a little bit of crypto/twitter. let's dive into that next
Locally, the usual political shenanigans 😹 kept going. Kenyan president is in the US attending the UNGA 78th edition in New York.
Speaking of the UN, the security council is holding a special session to discuss the conflict in Ukraine. President Zelensky gave another passionate speech asking the security council to strip Russia off it's veto power🙀. This for unprovoked aggression and various criminal acts.The Russian foreign minister was in attendance too.
On the sidelines of UNGA, president Biden met Israeli PM, Netanyahu. They had various discussions. Earlier president Biden has publicly called for the PM to compromise with protesters over the controversial judicial overhaul. Speaking of protesters, some gathered outside that new York hotel😹.
Also trending, Azerbaijan and ethnic Armenian forces in Nagorno karabakh region have agreed to a ceasefire🎊. The ceasefire was brokered by Russian peacekeepers came a day after Azerbaijan launched a military operation in the region; meanwhile in Yerevan Armenia, there were protests🙀.
Let's go to the UK, where the PM has said the UK won't be phasing out engine combustible cars by 2030, pushing it to 2035🙀. He said his govt was setting new approach to climate change. Adding that it was not right for politicians to impose significant costs to working people.
Finally in crazy weather, tornadoes have been reported in Eastern China. Then flash floods injured 20 people in Northern Iran as heaviest rain in a century hit the caspian sea coast🙀.Lets hope things get better or back to normal soon.
