Happy Monday 🎉 and a very warm welcome to my world 😊. We are onto a new month, new week and hopefully you are having a great day this far. Mine has been ok and as the day draws to a close, am raring to go with some of the day's trending news and my stepping activities. Thank you for stopping by yet again and let's take it away💨.
So I had two major walks, starting off early with fast paced morning session. I brisk walked around the neighbourhood. At least today the sun was out on a beautiful Monday morning with an amazing fresh breeze🍃. Then I was back indoors for the usual household chores. later in the afternoon, I stopped by the shopping center then was back home for some cooking followed by the usual nap. In between I did check out some trending news and watched some you tube. Finally I finished off the day with the slow paced evening walk in the cool evening breeze.
So what's been trending. Locally, the usual political shenanigans kept going 😹.Kenya trending as the first climate summit in Africa is in Nairobi🎊.The first day garnered millions of dollars in pledges. US special envoy for climate, John Kerry along with other heads of state from Africa are in attendance.
Africa is suffering disproportionately from climate change, richer more pollutant countries need to pay their fair share😹.
On the continent, Gabon trending as the army general who led the coup has been sworn in to replace deposed Ali Bongo. He has promised new democratic constitution. It's awkward that he is Ali Bongo's cousin😹. I wonder how long he was planning all this, be careful with those close to you.
In Zimbabwe, Emerson Mnagagwa was sworn in for his second and final term, meanwhile the opposition have denounced the election results 🙀.
Also trending today, Turkish president Tayyip Erdogan has been in Sochi for talks with Putin. Putin has said no to reviving the Blacksea grain deal until Russia's needs are met, this will make it hard for Ukraine to export grains🙀.
In Asia south Korea trending as teachers protested the continued harassment of teachers by students and parents.Cases of teacher suicides are on the rise😭.
Then in Japan, the govt has promised to compensate sea food exporters followed by that ban from China on Japanese sea food over the contaminated radiation water🙀, which Japan says poses no threat😹.
Finally in crazy weather, flooding and destruction reported in Spain following heavy rainfall that left many stranded indoors, flights cancelled and trains 🚆 grounded🙀. It has since calm down with clearing and repair underway. All's well that ends well 💯.
