Hello everyone 👋,
Happy hump day 😎🎉 and a very warm welcome to my world 😊. Another wonderful and active day is fading away fast. Before bedtime 😴 let's quickly take a look at how my day has been and share some of the trending stories. Thank you for stopping by and let's get it done 💨.
I kicked off the day with a few rounds of brisk walking around the neighbourhood. It was a beautiful sunny 🌞 morning as I made my way. A short walk that I enjoyed and then I was back indoors thirty minutes later. I then rested for a while, caught up with emails, watched the news and then the usual chores around the house.
My next stepping came later in the afternoon going to the city centre for some errands. This time a cloudy day as I made my way. It was nap time when I got back indoors, I woke up some time early evening and got on with the cooking, watching a little bit of news and youtube .Next came the evening or sunset walk, it looked like it would rain but it didn't and I made it back home safe and sound. Now let's quickly look at what has been trending in the news today.
Locally, the usual political shenanigans kept going😹, otherwise a quiet day.
On the continent, the Niger political crisis continues. Today the military appointed prime minister was visiting Chad.
Globally, Ukraine trending as Russia struck grain silos on the Danube river port🙀. Then a container ship which had been trapped in Odessa has left through the Black sea port. The vessel had been trapped at Odessa port since Russia invaded Ukraine.
Speaking of Russia, Putin is expected to discuss the slide in the rouble with policy makers. On Monday the rouble fell to it's weakest point in almost 17 months against the US dollar🙀. The Russian central bank hiked interest rates on Tuesday to 12% to contain the record fall. Seems like the sanctions are working😹.
Let's go across the pond, Haiti trending as citizens flee the capital due to an increase in gang violence🙀. Shortage of food, medicine and other supplies is making life in the capital Port au Prince very difficult. The UN secretary general Antonio Guterez has called for deployment of international forces in Haiti.
Finally, things are heating up down under in the women's world cup. England beat hosts Australia and will be playing with Spain in the final game. It's England's first time to reach the finals😹. It's gonna be a thrilling game in final match with Spain this Sunday. May the best team win💯.
