Hello everyone π,
Happy Monday π and a very warm welcome to my world π. It's been another wonderful and active start of the week. I have had a great day and I am very grateful for itπ―. As always thank you for being here and we are gonna take a look at some of the trending stories and also how my stepping went. Let's get it done π¨.
So just like yesterday, I kicked off the day with a few rounds of brisk walking π£ around the neighborhood π². That morning fresh air π made it so enjoyable π―. Then I was back indoors, resting and carrying out the daily chores, mostly cleaning and tidying up. In between I was online catching up with emails and news. Next, I stopped at the city centre for a couple of errands. Walked around for a while, it was sunny and beautiful. Then I was back home, got into the usual refreshing napπ€. As the evening set in I got the cooking going, caught up with some news, had my ginger tea before setting out for the sunset walk. As always slow paced enjoying the cool breezeπ. In Kenya it's a new dawn as we got a new president. Lets get in to some of the trending stories from around the world.
Locally, it's a new dawn with a new president as the supreme court upheld the win of Dr. William Ruto. It was a tightly fought contest with a fifty fifty win, so close to half of the country is happy while the other half is sad. However, there was a low voter turnout, only 65 percent of registered voters voted. For me I don't care, none of the two candidates would bring me food, they won't even upvote this postπΉ. Anyways Ruto has been telling lots of lies, let's see if he fulfills what he's been promising on the campaign trail.
Globally, a new dawn in the UK as conservatives have elected Liz Truss as the new PM after Boris Johnson. She comes in at a time of slow economy, soaring inflation and increasing energy costsπ±. Speaking of energy costs gas prices have rise thirty percent across Europe, mostly from the war in Ukraine and Russia indefinitely closing that major pipeline. Meanwhile in Ukraine, the fight for Kherson raged onπ’.
Across the pond in Canada, trending news of deranged stabbings that killed almost ten people. My sincere condolences to all the affected familiesπ’, unfortunately the suspects are still at large. Then in Chile, protest in Santiago as a majority of the electorate overwhelmingly rejected the proposed new constitutionπ±.
In crazy weather, there are reports of an earthquake in Sichuan province of China, I didn't get the details but there was definitely damages. Elsewhere, South Korea is bracing for a strong typhoon, they are calling it Hinnamnorπ±, flights grounded as strong winds gather before it makes landfall. Fingers crossed.
See you again tomorrow on a terrific Tuesday βΊοΈ. Until then keep stepping and enjoying yourselves to the max π―. That's gonna be it for today, stay safe, take care and good bye πππ Hakuna Matata π.
