Hello everyone 👋,
Happy Monday 🎉 and a very warm welcome to my world 😊. It's another 24 hours to be grateful for, a new week and I have had a great day. It's now that time to slow down and fill you in on how my day has been including some of the trending stories that caught my eye 👀. So i had two major walks, starting off early with fast paced morning session. I brisk walked around the neighbourhood. At least today the sun was out on a beautiful Monday morning with an amazing fresh breeze🍃. Then I was back indoors for the usual household chores. later in the afternoon, I stopped by the shopping center then was back home for some cooking followed by the usual nap. In between I did check out some trending and crypto news which I will share next. Finally I finished off the day with the slow paced evening walk.
So what's been trending. Locally, political shenanigans 😹 as the former opposition leader challenged last week's elections result by filing a petition at the supreme court. The court has 14 days to rule on the issue, so lets wait and see how it goes down. The results may stand, the court may order a recount of votes or we could be headed for a new election😱.
Globally, Russia accused Ukraine for the death of the daughter of Putin's chief ally😱. Ukraine denied any involvement. In Ukraine all rallies and gatherings ahead of independence day have been cancelled in case of attacks from the Russians. Elsewhere in the UK, it's a summer of strikes as dockworkers, rail workers, telcom, barristers among workers laying their tools down. The stagnant wages have not been matching the rising costs of living, inflation is the highest in forty years😱.
In Asia, former Pakistani PM Imran Khan faces charges of terrorism and sedition for utterances rallies he has been holding. Elsewhere in the Philippines, schools have reopened after a two year covid hiatus👏💯.
Over in crypto land, bitcoin at $21,116.44, I saw a video with one analyst predicting further bearish outlook, saying September has been largely bearish for bitcoin. Time will tell. Meanwhile the euro is at a twenty year low😱.
