The Flowers Of Spring

The flowers of spring are reminders of you
Our love was so strong
I thought that we'd be together forever
That our love would last through the weather
You gave me red roses, pink tulips and more
And blew away my heart, just like a storm
But now I'm alone and can't my way
Where did you go? I don't know anymore

When I think of you, I think of
The spring we spent together
I remember the sweet scent of flowers,
Which you gave to me as a symbol of your love.
You have made me whole, and now my life is empty without you
What will the future hold for me?

Spring is gone,
Replaced with winter.
The flowers have wilted,
And my broken heart is frozen.
My tears flow endlessly,
As I yearn for spring again.
I pine for you, my first love.
I can't wait for the flowers of spring to blossom again.

Notes:
I am from the island of Borneo. Here there are no 4 seasons and we have summer the whole year-round. I often wonder what it is like to experience the changing of the seasons. What would be the landscape like and the feelings associated with each season?

Using my imagination I have written a poem about a young girl who is heartbroken that her first love had come to an end. It is now winter and she reminisces about the spring that she spends with her lover.
