Hello, Splinterlovers, how are you today. Today I will make a post again about the Splinterlands contest Battle Mage Secrets Challenge. This Week's Theme is Melee Mayhem ruleset.

Ruleset
Little League Only Summoners or Monsters who cost 4 mana or less can use in this battle. Melee Mayhem, A melee monster can attack from any position, it will attack the monster in the first position. Armored Up, All Monsters have 2 Armor in addition to their normal Armor stat. mana cap. can use Fire, Earth, Life and Dragon element.
My Lineup and strategy
- I think the most important thing in Melee Mayhem is to search for the best tanker first from the 4 elements we can use in this battle.
- In Armored Up sometimes player will use many magic attacks because easier to kill the enemy using magic attacks without the need to destroy the armor first.
We decided to use Life element because has great tanker to use in the Little League Ruleset.
The Lineup we use :
| Summoner or monster | Abilities | Description |
|---|---|---|
| Quick the Devious, Summoner. Can decrease enemy monster speed and range damage by -1 | We need that buff speed so our monsters have more chance to attack first and kill the enemy monster before they can attack. Our Tanker will be harder to kill with this speed buff. | |
| Pelacor Conjurer, 1st position, Tanker. Has the ability Flying, Magic Reflect, Divine Shield, and Phase. | This unit is our main tanker. In the low mana battle, this monster is hard to kill because has high speed and can evade all attacks including magic because has the Phase ability. The Flying ability can increase the chance to dodge enemy attacks by 25%. If attacked by a magic attack and hit, it will reflect the damage to the enemy. The ability Magic Reflect deals magic damage equivalent to the attacker's damage divided by 2, rounded up. It is immune to the first enemy attack that hits because has a Divine shield ability. | |
| Sunkai Harvester, 2nd position, attacker and 2nd tanker. Has the ability Reach, and Oppress. | This will be a 2nd tanker. this monster can attack from this position because it has the Reach ability, and the Oppress ability will do double damage when attacking monsters with no attack like Pelacor Conjurer, Chaos Agent, etc. The stats are good enough for Little League ruleset battle. usually, the damage of 4 is considered the best in Little League. | |
| Vulguine, 3rd position, attacker and tanker. Has the ability Scavenger, Dodge, and Enrage | Placed in the 3rd position because this monster has The Scavenger ability which increases the HP every time any monster dies. I hope when this monster advances to first place it will have quite a lot of HP. A Dodge ability increases the chance to evade the enemy melee and range monster by 25%. Further increase in the capability to evade the enemy attack comes from Enrage's ability when this monster's HP decreases will increase the damage and speed. When this monster moves to the first position and gets Enrage effect this monster will be hard to hit with melee and range attack. Usually, this unit can't attack in this position but because of the ruleset Melee Mayhem this unit can attack the enemy in the first position. This unit weak against magic but very good evading the range and melee attack especially when in the Enrage status. | |
| Time Mage, 4th position, attacker and support. Has the ability Slow, and Rust. | The Rust abilities will decrease the enemy base armor by -2. The support ability Slow can decrease the speed of all enemy monsters by -1, increasing the chance of our monster attacking first and Increasing the Chance for our tanker Pelacor Conjurer to evade the enemy attack. | |
| Stitch Leech, 5th position, attacker. Has the ability Sneak, and Life Leech. | This melee monster can attack from any position because it has a Sneak ability which makes this monster attack the opponent in the last position. With Life Leech's ability every time this monster attacks and decreases the enemy's HP, the HP will increase according to the damage dealt. Have some similarities like Vulguine ability Scavenger. This unit Sneak ability overrides this Melee Mayhem ruleset in this battle, I use this unit to surprise the enemy usually in the Melee Mayhem ruleset several player is preparing only to defend the first position | |
| Naga Assassin, 6th position, attacker and Tanker. Has the ability Backfire, and Swiftness. | I use this monster because of the Swiftness ability which can increase all friendly monster speeds by 1. Another reason I put this in the last position is that has high speed and The Backfire ability will give damage to the enemy monster if this monster can evade the attack (this unit can only evade the range and melee unit attack). This unit will be our main tanker in the back in case the enemy brings a unit with the Sneak ability (attacking unit in the last position). |
Our Formation is finished and we are ready to battle :
Did your Strategy Work?
Yes, the strategy is working, we strengthen our tanker in the front and back by using speed buff and slow debuff. The enemy only brought units that could attack our unit in the first position and they brought many magic attackers but failed to kill our tanker Pelacor Conjurer because of the speed difference :
This makes our attackers safer and easily kill the enemy one by one.
