Japan is cool. Animes, fashion, nintendo... and then the sushi and sashimi. Only harakiri is not cool, but all the others are spot on.

As a fan of Japanese culture I try to eat sushi at least couple of times per year. In Ljubljana, Slovenia you can find three good sushi places:

• Sushi mama, the most expensive sushi place in the town, Chuck Norris ate his sushi there and I heard he was delighted

• Sato Bento, the most authentic sushi place with a limited offer

• Maru, the most "Toyota" price/performance place that we have visited in this review.

What was on our plates

California style avocado salmon sushi rolls tasted fresh and amazing. We also took Nigiri of capesante, octopus and mackerel. All very good, but the capesante was the winner, rich taste.

We have also tasted the avocado sushi rolls which were decent too and you can see it on the photos.

The only thing we were missing is...

Fermented veggies! These young soybeans were the closest to something that would refresh a taste after the strong taste of rice and fish.

Overall score

A good quality place to taste some real fresh fish and not pay a fortune. We give it 4/5 score. If they would expand their offer on the fermented veggies, it would be a 5.
