Vicente was admitted to the county hospital. He suffered from pulmonary emphysema; the disease was diagnosed at his 60 years old. After 20 years of living with an oxygen tank to be able to breathe, he was relieved to no longer have that burden, although he had traded it for an oxygen mask. Lying on the bed looking at the ceiling, with his eyes lost and his breathing increasingly choked, Don Vicente sensed that his end was approaching.

However, a thought disturbed him: the words of his mother echoed in his mind over and over again and since words never come alone, he saw the face of his mother advising him.

Vicente my son you have to integrate, make friends, look for a woman who loves you; get married, form a family; there is nothing more beautiful than forming affective bonds, because that will be your legacy, what you will leave in life.

But Vicente never felt interested in socializing or integrating, he thought that the world was not prepared for what he had to give, he remained isolated all his life, like a hermit, he did not make friends, he did not get emotionally involved with any women; he only had one-night affairs with them.

Looking around the 4 walls of that cold room, he felt a great emptiness at being surrounded by that infinite loneliness and thought to himself.

Oh mother how much meaning your words have now, my journey through this life is coming to an end and between shadows I say goodbye ... Perhaps in another life, I will reincarnate and follow your wise advice forever and ever!

As he finished exhaling his last words, Don Vicente felt how his soul was detached from his body. A warm light enveloped his soul, transporting it into the body of a newborn baby. The baby, still with the umbilical cord uncut, began to cry with all the force that his lungs would allow, while he sketched his first smile at a life to which this time he would belong...

Vamos a ello.
