I don't recall why I took this photo. Maybe seeing that life can still be clung to, when all else seems to whither, such as the fruit on these limbs.
I had a rough time getting through the stress of the past few years, as have many people. Then slowly, life seemed to pull itself back together. We, as humans, don't give ourselves enough credit for making it further than others even dreamed possible. I'm notorious for being hardest on myself when things begin to go south. Nothing seems to go as planned. Hopes for a better way of life has come crashing down, seemingly all at once. The worst part is being stuck in a job that instead of giving me a stable life, has turned into one that could make me lose everything I worked hard for. The money used to be great until Covid. I stay there still to this day, because I am grateful to have a job that doesn't require the vaccine. I'm scared to start over again. I'm scared to take a risk of leaving them so I can potentially start a new job, should one be offered immediately, as is the case for some that I have seen, but also risk not getting a job right away. The fear of going bankrupt is high and my needing to hang in there, is getting very low.
The effects of stress weighs heavily on a persons health and well-being. Most of the time, I find a way to pull myself out of the box (a term used for depression, anxiety, anger, ect.) If a person is half in the box, they find the strength or morale support to pull back out over time. If they are completely in the box, it takes a lot of patience and support, to help them find their way back.
Do we struggle with depression and anxiety because we have not learned to train our own thoughts? Sometimes I can turn my thinking around, but not very much or for very long. I remind myself that there are those who are in worse predicaments. That doesn't always help though. My sinking worries me, because it's becoming harder to stay afloat. I now begin to see why some take the easy way out, even though I do not think it's ever the right way to do so. It saddens me to think so many just give up completely. I cross my fingers that I do not get to the point of no return.
I'm sure some of you who read this post, have had similar things as I talked about. What helped you hang on, in hopes of something good coming along? Do you know anyone going through this sort of thing? How does a person train or retrain their thoughts, before they completely hit rock bottom?
Thank you all for reading. God bless you and your families. Hold close, the ones you love dearly.
