Spaghetti is one of my favorite dishes. There may be many versions of making spaghetti, but what I love the most is the Meaty Spaghetti.

Perhaps this classic dish is a Filipino style of sweet, saucy, meaty, and flavorful pasta. With its rich tomato sauce, tender meat, and perfectly cooked pasta, this dish satisfied my cravings.

I grew up eating the spaghetti of one of the popular fast food chains in the Philippines. If you are a Filipino and a lover of spaghetti, indeed, you get what I mean. But it always feels so good to cook food in my version.

When I went to the farm yesterday, I prepared a Meaty Spaghetti. And now, join me as I take you through the step-by-step process of making this savory treat. Here is how I cooked it.

Ingredients:

500 grams of spaghetti noodles
500 grams of ground pork
500 grams of hotdogs
One onion, finely chopped
Four cloves of garlic, minced
One pouch (500 grams) of Spaghetti Sauce
One pouch of Sweet-style Ketchup
One-fourth sliced butter
One dice of pork cubes
Salt, sugar, and pepper to taste
Grated cheese for topping

Instructions:

I cooked the spaghetti noodles through a large pot of salted water to a boil.

I added the spaghetti noodles and cooked them according to the package instructions until cooked.

I then drained the noodles and set them aside. Let the water drain and prepare the sauce.

I used a large non-stick saucepan to prepare the sauce.

Instead of cooking oil, I used butter. Heat the butter over medium heat.

I let the butter melt. And when the butter turns to liquid, add the chopped onion and minced garlic, and saute until fragrant and translucent.

Then I added the ground pork. This time, I increased the heat to medium-high and added the ground pork to the saucepan. I let it be cooked until browned, breaking it up with a spoon as it cooks.

I let it be stirred and cook for a few minutes until it becomes slightly tender. And then I sprinkled in the salt and pepper.

After the ground pork was cooked, I added the hotdogs and mixed well until tender.

Afterward, mix well to let the flavors on the spaghetti sauce with all the ingredients.

I poured in the spaghetti sauce and sweet-style ketchup. And I reduced the heat to medium and even low and mixed in all the seasonings.

I stirred to combine the ingredients thoroughly. Add the pork broth to achieve the desired consistency.

I then added cheese for a cheesy pasta that would blend with the spaghetti sauce.

After a while, I let it be simmered and seasoned. I let the sauce simmer for about 20 to 30 minutes. And I was stirring them occasionally to prevent them from sticking to the pan.

I tasted and adjusted the seasonings according to my preference. As desired, I add a tablespoon or two of sugar to balance the acidity of the tomatoes.

When the sauce had thickened, and the flavors tasted well, it was the best time to mix the meaty spaghetti in a bowl.

I then place a portion of cooked spaghetti noodles on a plate as I spoon the meaty sauce generously over the noodles and sprinkle the grated cheese on top. Since I love cheese, I had more great cheese on my plate.

Finally, the meaty spaghetti is now served and enjoyed by us.

My cravings were satisfied, and the meaty spaghetti was served on the table along with the creamy cake and orange soda. It was a perfect dish for our snack time.
