After losing my power, I relied on my axe and a newly acquired rifle to clear the remaining enemies out of the power plant. I flipped the switch in the control room to restore power, refused the Sheriff's advice to retreat, and successfully defended the area from Baron's incoming men.
I lost my power earlier, but I still had my axe ready for action. Looking around, it seemed like there was only one enemy left standing in the area. I decided to take him down quickly with a strike to the head.
The power was completely off, which irritated me, so I knew I had to get it running again. Along the way, I picked up an assault rifle from the body of a fallen soldier, something I probably should have done a lot sooner.
Oddly enough, the bodies of the other soldiers I had defeated earlier had completely vanished from the ground where they fell.
I made my way straight to the control room and flipped the main switch. The power plant came right back online, and Kyle then radioed the Sheriff to let her know the news.
She mentioned that Baron's men must have shut it down and warned me that more hostiles were heading my way.
She asked Kyle to just make sure the power stayed on and then get out of there safely. However, Kyle had no intention of leaving early. Whether anyone liked it or not, Kyle was going to finish what he started.
I did not want to back down either, so I stayed behind to clear out every single one of Baron's soldiers from the plant. I put the newly collected rifle to good use during the firefight next.
When I was on my way toward the roof, there came more enemies and this time they were not carrying guns so I didn't want to waste ammo on them. I fought them with my melee weapons and took them down.
When I reached the highest floor of the building, more enemies with melee weapons came to fight me so I had to hold my ground and fight them back to make my way out into the open.
After going outside, I noticed a few Volatiles lurking around over toward the nearby bridge. The sun had not even set yet, which left me feeling pretty confused about their presence.
Shortly after, more enemy soldiers armed with rifles arrived, but I held my ground and eliminated them all.
With the entire area clear, the plant was finally up and running again, and the safe zone officially unlocked. Kyle suggested the to send some of her own people over if he wanted to keep the plant secure for the long run. She then asked Kyle to head back to base so they could talk through the next steps.
Before taking off, I looted the area and found extra rifle ammunition that would have been great to have earlier, though it would certainly come in handy for whatever lay ahead.
I'll show what happens next later.
I personally took all the screenshots from my play and I used a logo of the game from online to use in the thumbnail.
