After my vacation and a couple of "city tour" #WednesdayWalk posts, it's time to go back to the roots... Deep into nature and take a deep breath... Recharge those lungs and batteries that were emptied after a 2-week sickness... Is there a better place for doing that than going to the mountains, closer to the clouds and sky?
It's interesting that we humans always want something that we don't have... I was living over half of my life in the countryside and I always dreamed of living at the seaside... Today, I'm living in a town by the sea, and I like more than anything, to go inland, and explore the mountains... 馃槂 Maybe I will move in the future and dream of living by the sea? 馃槃
I'm starting to like these unexpected walks that I have done in the past, and there is something special in random excursions! This time, I had to take my wife and son to Guadalest, a small old town in the mountains where they were playing at the wedding ceremony... As I'm not a musician, nothing is there for me... 馃槂 So, I have decided to wisely use my time while I had to wait for them to finish...
The first stop was the natural water source where we usually go to refill our bottles of drinking water... If you were following my Actifit reports in the past, you have probably seen this water spring before... It's our "local supermarket" for "bottled water"... Here we come once/twice per month to refill our supplies...
The sign below says that water isn't sanitarily treated, which is sometimes much better than when it is... As this water comes from the heart of the mountain where there is no pollution, roads, or industry, I'm not worried about it at all...
Look how cold it is! Like your ex's heart! (saying stolen from FB) 馃槀
There was a wooden bench under this tree... Now imagine that cold water combined with this awesome shade in the middle of a hot day! Even cold beer wouldn't fit better in that image!
After filling all the bottles, I still had time for a walk as I got a message that the newlyweds are late for the ceremony... Maybe they have changed their mind? 馃槺
First stop, blackberry bush! Yes, this photo looks messy as they were tiny, but check out the next one...
When I was a kid, I ate tons of these when we would go camping... We would prepare them with a lot of sugar (not healthy, but in those days "experts" didn't say that's bad... 馃構)! On the banks of the river Danube, they would be much bigger and juicier than these, but when you can't choose, these were great too!
You know me... I can't share photos where there are no flowers... It was windy, so I had to hold it to take a photo... :)
Most of the almonds were collected, but I found a couple that is still on the trees...
Where to go?? So many signs... But when you are on the "free walk" there is no wrong way... You can pick any direction...
...and so many roads... But, as I said, there is no wrong road... It was cloudy during the walk and usually, that's the best weather for taking landscape photos...
Speaking of the landscape... these views were so beautiful... you have to admit... I barely met anyone during the walk... Maybe 5-6 people in total were enjoying this great weather and peaceful mountain...
When I was near the top, found this banner with the names of the peaks on the opposite side of where I was...

This is a natural cave, but it was fenced for security reasons...
...on the left side is a "hidden path" to the cave...
...and on the right side, some stupid person left their trash in the middle of nature... Sorry about this, but I got very triggered by this kind of behavior...
Watch your step... You don't want to fall into this huge...
...hole in the ground!!!
I wasn't lucky to get some animal photography, but I did catch a few grasshoppers! I know that there are initiatives to get them on the school menus, but I didn't eat these... 馃槂 They are still hopping heapily somewhere in the mountains... :)
