The antique Spaniards named the Montserrat after the shape of a sharp saw blade. When I looked at the mountain from the Cave of Saint Ignatius I reminded it as a huge eagle prior to fly with spreading his wings vigorously. There are many versions of it if you search in the web. I love all domains that he described.

Both perspectives have common context as a code of spirituality. For spiritualists, a sharp sword symbolizes wisdom. It cuts our negative afflictions arising from subconsciousness as a cultivated mind with justice and compassion.

It is a counterfeit of the sword with which Saint Ignatius presented his swear at the front of the black Virgin of Montserrat to be a knight for spirit of Christ. After staying up all night on his knees, he came down the mountain and started ascetic here in cave for 11 months.
As you go deep inside searching for inner light through meditation, the evolution of consciousness takes place, which will rise to a higher mental stage like an eagle flying freely in the blue sky without any stains of afflictions.
