Magnolia kobus
Been living here for about 10 years. I've walked this same promenade at least hundreds of times, but I've only just discovered the magnolia flower. It's one of my very favorite flowers. The only one magnolia tree have been overlooked because of a world of splendidly blooming cherry blossoms all around at this times. So it feels more welcoming and valuable. But it's too big and beautiful to be overlooked, idiot!
Buds collected in early spring can be used as herbal medicines by drying them in a well-ventilated place or in the sun. It has analgesic and sedative effects, and is effective for rhinitis, sinusitis, headache, and dizziness. If translating the name of the Chinese(辛夷花,), it is a spicy(辛) arrow(夷) flower(花). Perhaps it is because this scent of flower or tea pierces the blocked nostrils like an spicy arrow.
