There’s something incredibly comforting about coming home and being greeted by someone who doesn’t care how your day went, what you accomplished, or how tired you are.
They’re just happy you’re there.
As a psychologist, I spend a lot of time thinking about emotions and the ways we connect with others. But animals remind me that some of the purest connections don’t need explanations. They simply exist.
Holding this little one instantly made me slow down, smile, and appreciate the present moment. Sometimes, the best kind of therapy has four paws, a tiny nose, and a heart full of unconditional love.
Life can get busy, goals can feel overwhelming, and responsibilities never seem to end.
But moments like this remind me that happiness is often found in the simplest embraces.
