I have this little habit-builder alarm thingy but the problem is I don't have even a little habit-building will.
Not that I am going to stop using it, it is the same reason I still have 10 standard wake-up alarms. Even if I don't listen to them at least I am trying.
Today though instead of just telling the habit alarm to shut up and say no, I said yes and turns out I don't like lying to things. Well not directly at least, with the exception of a given context of course.
Turns out a simple "yes" or "no" question is rather irritating when you say YES and did not do it, the nagging is so irritating so I just got up and did my exercise.
Now I don't think this is some magic silver bullet because as with anything a person adapts.
Any sense of urgency, anxiety, or out-of-the-norm thing that a person would usually jump into action over or at least take more note of than normal will eventually fade during the repetition.
Now I guess the point of a habit builder is to use this and turn the thing you are trying to do more into something you repeat without question.
The problem is kinda step one, you need to get used to completing the accept action ie the alarm and then still doing the thing. Saying no to the alarm is a low effort "nope".
Then I proceed to not do shit.
Now maybe I will try to say YES and possibly and at least for a little while that will irritate me enough to actually do the thing to.
After that, well I have no clue, we are our own worst enemies, and I am not so sure I am going to outsmart myself in cases where I just don't want to bloody well do it.
