This Thursday has been a calm day at home, the weather has been showing signs of an electrical storm since early morning, but the storm that those gray clouds, full of lightning and thunder, have been announcing has not yet fallen. For the most part, I'm glad that, despite the weather, and the discomfort it causes my joints, the electricity is working quite well, and I can accomplish some tasks and also post the day's log.
Since yesterday, I have been trying to complete a bureaucratic procedure that the government has imposed for the national electrical service, but I have encountered an absurd amount of problems in being able to comply with it, which puts me at risk of a very heavy fine (a fine that I can see would be impossible for me to cover with my current income).
It's like the bad joke that bureaucrats meet periodically to review processes and requirements, to make sure they are intelligible and virtually impossible to meet. But I must do everything possible to resolve this, because they threaten that they will even have penal or criminal sanctions for those who do not register, and they can go to the extreme of seizing houses or bank accounts... but everything indicates that they have made it this complicated with full intention. Sometimes my country runs out of our patience, in various ways.

Este jueves ha sido un día calmado en casa, el clima está con visos de tormenta eléctrica desde temprano, pero aún no ha caído la tormenta que esas nubes grises, llenas de rayos y truenos, ha estado anunciando. En buena parte, me alegra que, a pesar del clima, y las molestias que me ocasiona en las articulaciones, la electricidad está funcionando bastante bien y puedo cumplir con algunas tareas y también publicar el registro del día.

Es como el chiste malo de que los burócratas se reúnen periódicamente para revisar los procesos y requisitos, para asegurarse de que sean inteligibles y virtualmente imposibles de cumplir. Pero debo hacer todo lo posible para resolver esto, pues amenazan que incluso tendrán sanciones penales para quienes no se registren y pueden llegar al extremo de embargar casas o cuentas bancarias… pero todo apunta a que lo han hecho así de complicado con plena intención. En ocasiones mi país agota la paciencia, de varias maneras.

Better, let's move on to something more joyful, something that will take my mind off of these problems that threaten to make my #life miserable. Let's comment on today's #History anniversary, a celebration intended for a member of the #family, a #woman who usually has a whole collection of memes, jokes and anecdotes associated with our traditions. Today is 'World Mother-in-Law Day'.
Although it is not an official celebration, supported by international organizations, it is a celebration that seems to have been born in the United States (1935), at the initiative of journalist Eugene Howe. 50 years ago, in the 70s of the last century, the United States Florists Association took up the idea of the celebration and spread it, I think they thought it was a good excuse for the commercialization of floral arrangements. Although the #mother-in-law does not enjoy a very good image in many circumstances, because there are types of #MothersInLaw who are extremely invasive in the relationships of their sons and daughters (as well as in the upbringing of grandchildren), not all the time the family relationship with the couple's mother is necessarily bad.

Comentemos sobre la efeméride de la #Historia de hoy, una celebración destinada a un integrante de la #familia, una #mujer que suele tener toda una colección de memes, chistes y anécdotas asociadas a nuestras tradiciones. Hoy es el ‘Día Mundial de la Suegra’.
Aunque no es una celebración oficial, apoyada por organismos internacionales, es una celebración que parece que nació en Estados Unidos (1935), por la iniciativa del periodista Eugene Howe (Gene). Hace 50 años, en los años 70 del siglo pasado, la asociación de floristas de Estados Unidos retomó la idea de la celebración y la difundió, creo que pensaron que era una buena excusa para la comercialización de arreglos florales. Nowadays, there are enough mother-in-law jokes, both to unload the really annoying ones, and to celebrate the fun and supportive mothers-in-law, the latter serving as balance elements of growth for the couples. I don't know much about the subject, but I can suggest that not all mothers-in-law can be as bad as they say. One detail that catches my attention is that the bad reputation of mothers-in-law does not seem to have comparison with the fame of in-laws, among whom there can also be nice people and unbearable people.
I don't know what kind of mother-in-law you are lucky enough to have, you may not even have any, but in all cases, you can celebrate this day, and hope that all mothers-in-law help families to be better and work together for one better tomorrow, I say goodbye, wishing you that you are well and that we can read again another time.

En la actualidad, se tienen suficientes chistes de suegras, tanto para descargar a las que son realmente molestas, como para festejar a las suegras divertidas y que apoyan a las parejas, sirviendo estas últimas como elementos de equilibrio de crecimiento para las parejas. No sé mucho del tema, pero puedo plantear que no todas las suegras pueden ser tan malas como se cuenta. Un detalle que me llama la atención es que la mala fama de las suegras, no parece tener comparación con la fama de los suegros, entre los que también puede haber gente agradable y gente insoportable.
No sé qué clase de suegra tienes la suerte de tener tú, puede que incluso no tengas ninguna, pero en todos los casos, bien se puede celebrar este día, y desear que todas las suegras ayuden a las familias a ser mejores y trabajar juntos por un mañana. Bien, ya me despido, deseándote que estés bien y que nos podamos leer de nuevo en otra oportunidad.
