Between electrical failures, internet service failures and other not very pleasant details, this Sunday has been going in a bit of an eventful way. I prefer to move on to other topics, instead of complaining a little more about these details that complicate #life a little. Besides, I think I'm going to be brief, because the electricity has taken a leap and I prefer to make the post before being left in the dark again.
Just to make a minimal comment about the anniversary of #History, I had to say that today, December 10, is 'Human Rights Day'.

Entre fallas eléctricas, fallas de servicio de internet y otros detalles no muy agradables, este día domingo ha estado transcurriendo de una manera un poco accidentada. Prefiero pasar a otros temas, en lugar de quejarme un poco más sobre estos detalles que complican un poco la #vida. Además de que creo que voy a ser breve, pues la electricidad ha dado un salto y prefiero hacer el post antes de quedar a oscuras de nuevo.
Solamente para hacer un mínimo comentario sobre la efeméride de la #Historia, tenía que decir que hoy, 10 de diciembre, es el ‘Día de los Derechos Humanos’.

It is a date established in honor of the Declaration of Human Rights, which was proclaimed by the General Assembly of the United Nations (in Paris), on December 10, 1948. The world was ending World War II, a large-scale war which showed some of the worst facets of human evil. This action was an attempt to prevent a future repetition of the atrocities that had been carried out during the war years.
And not only in times of war, it was also about regulating respect for human dignity and the preservation of a minimum set of rights common to all humanity. This is particularly highlighted by the theme chosen for the 2023 celebration: Dignity, freedom and justice for all people.
By the way, today we are celebrating 75 years of this date on which the original declaration was promulgated.

Es una fecha establecida en honor a la Declaración de los Derechos Humanos, que fue proclamada por la Asamblea General de las Naciones Unidas (París), el 10 de diciembre de 1948. Estaba el mundo terminando la Segunda Guerra Mundial, una guerra a gran escala que mostró algunas de las peores facetas de la maldad humana. Esta acción era un intento de evitar que se repitieran a futuro las atrocidades que se habían realizado en los años de guerra.
Y no solo en los tiempos de guerra, también se trataba de regular el respeto por la dignidad humana y la preservación de un conjunto mínimo de derechos comunes para toda la humanidad. Eso se resalta particularmente con el tema escogido para la celebración del 2023: Dignidad, libertad y justicia para todas las personas.
Por cierto, hoy estamos cumpliendo 75 años de esta fecha en que se promulgó la declaración original.

The issue of #HumanRights is quite important, and although a lot of progress has been made in these 75 years, there are still many situations of injustice, discrimination, cruelty, mistreatment, and many other things that could annihilate hope in the 'human kindness'.
I sincerely hope that the ideals envisioned in the #declaration can be more fully displayed in the real world. Without being manipulated into new forms of discrimination, without being used as political excuses for reprehensible actions, without being tainted by the selfish interests of powerful groups. That wish sounds like a utopia, but I guess it's valid to dream.
It is better that I say goodbye, wishing you that you are well and that we can read again another time.

El asunto de los #DerechosHumanos es bastante importante, y a pesar de que se ha avanzado bastante en estos 75 años, aún quedan en pie muchas situaciones de injusticia, discriminación, crueldad, maltrato, y muchas otras cosas que podrían aniquilar la esperanza en la ‘bondad humana’.
Deseo de verdad que los ideales contemplados en la declaración se puedan mostrar más plenamente en el mundo real. Sin ser manipulados para nuevas formas de discriminación, sin ser utilizados como excusas políticas para acciones reprobables, sin ser manchados de los intereses egoístas de los grupos de poder. Ese deseo suena como una utopía, pero supongo que es válido soñar.
Ya es mejor que me despida, deseándote que tú estés bien y que nos podamos leer de nuevo en otra oportunidad.
