Today, one of those little things happened that ends up making the day better. I was looking for music to give me a little boost—because some to-dos seem to multiply on their own—and, by pure chance, I ended up listening to “We’re Not Gonna Take It” by Twisted Sister.
Yes, that old song from 1984 that comes in strong, with guitars, catchy choruses, and an attitude that doesn't ask for permission 😄.
Twisted Sister always had that curious mix of heavy metal, glam metal, and a very pop touch. It doesn't really matter how we classify it: the #song has contagious energy. It's one of those songs that you listen to, and, even if you're not a metal fan, you end up headbanging like you're at a concert.
Besides, the music video is still hilarious. Between the outrageous hairstyles, the exaggerated makeup, and that bizarre 80s aesthetic, it's hard to watch it today with a straight face.

Each generation believes the next is lost, distracted, or too rebellious. I even remember reading that there were philosophers in Ancient Greece who complained about young people, as if they were talking about today's teenagers glued to their phones.
Perhaps the complaint changes its clothes, its music, and its words, but the scene has been repeating itself for centuries.
In the end, I didn't find a great life lesson or a profound revelation. Just an old song, a funny video, and a good excuse to laugh for a while.
But it worked. It lifted my spirits a bit, stirred up memories, and helped me tackle some pending tasks with more enthusiasm.
Sometimes we don't need much more: a loud guitar, a familiar melody, and the feeling that, for a few minutes, we're not going to let tiredness win. 🤘

Es de esas que uno escucha y, aunque no sea fanático del metal, termina moviendo la cabeza como si estuviera en un concierto.

Cada generación cree que la siguiente está perdida, distraída o demasiado rebelde. Incluso recuerdo haber leído que ya en la Antigua Grecia había filósofos que se quejaban de los jóvenes, como si estuvieran hablando de adolescentes de hoy pegados al celular.
Quizás la queja cambia de ropa, de música y de palabras, pero la escena se repite desde hace siglos.
Al final, no encontré una gran lección de vida ni una revelación profunda. Solo una canción vieja, un video divertido y una buena excusa para reírme un rato.
Pero funcionó. Subió un poco mi ánimo, despertó recuerdos y me ayudó a retomar algunas tareas pendientes con más ganas.
A veces no necesitamos mucho más: una guitarra ruidosa, una melodía conocida y la sensación de que, por unos minutos, tampoco vamos a dejar que el cansancio gane. 🤘
