Greetings, everyone

A time comes in our lives when we lie just for a reason to escape the consequences of telling the truth. Nobody is perfect, and no man tells me that he has never lied before; if you say you have never in your life lied before, then you are automatically a liar, and there is no truth in you. It is just like you saying you have never sinned; even the bible says, whosoever that says, he is not a sinner, he is a blatant liar, and there is no truth in such a person.

I have lied before due to the consequences that may arise from the truth. And I was free from it.

This is the lie I displayed just to have that freedom I needed. Once upon a time in my life, I needed to step out with a friend of mind just to sit out and chill; I went to my dad and told him that I wanted to go and visit my female friend, who was a girl. He granted me that permission, and I used that opportunity to flirt with my male friend; we sat out and had fun, and I returned home late in the night. So my dad asked why I came back late; I told him I went out with my female friend to have a movie night since the next day was her birthday. He said, no problem. Within me my heart was beating, just to wait and receive a shout. Had it been I told my dad, directly that I was going to meet my male friend, there would have been a problem in the house.

I would share it again; this time around is my sister. She went to meet my dad in the office early in the morning, and my dad had a meeting to attend in the morning; he told my sister that he wanted to come back and eat breakfast and that we should prepare something and keep it for him. My sister came back and told me that I was busy doing something else; instead of going inside the kitchen to prepare food for Daddy, she left the room. So my dad came back with the hope of eating but was disappointed in us for not preparing the food. My dad is the kind of person who is always careful with details. He said to my sister, I told you to return and prepare food, my sister immediately lied and rejected that he didn't tell her to come back and prepare food. I was shocked by the way my sister reacted, and I didn't want to talk. Had it been I talked into the matter, my dad would have beaten her for lying, so I kept quiet, and she kept quiet and walked inside the kitchen and did the cooking by herself.

So, we have lied in one way or the other due to the consequences that might come with the truth. Some people have spoken the truth before and they end up endangering themselves in death and in prison.
