Image of myself
Welcome to my post on creative nonfiction for this week. As I was going through the topics, I saw one that I had experienced recently and would like to share here.
I woke up that day, did what I wanted to do, and was on my phone for a while, so I decided to go out to meet my friend since the house was getting boring and I had nothing left to do. So I called my friend and told her I was coming down to her place, and she said okay, she's at home. So I dressed up, picked up the necessary things I would need with me, and headed for her house.
On my way, I came across an old friend; actually, the friend saw me first and came to meet me. When I turned and saw the person, I recognized the person, but I didn't remember the person's name. I did not allow the person to notice that I did not remember her name; I just used words to cover it up, asking her how she had been and where she was headed too, which she told me. I had to cut the conversation short so it wouldn't lead to anything that would make me want to say her name out; all I was using to cover it up was saying "my dear, my sister" and stuff like that. So I just collected her number, and we went on our ways.
I got to my friend's place and told her about the person because my friend also knows her. I was trying to get her to remember the girl when the girl's name rang in my head, and I was now like, "Oh my gosh, that's true!" Like, how could I possibly forget her name? I just hit myself on the head and said, "Naughty me." My friend and I just laughed it off.
It was when I called her with the number she gave me that I called out her name and laughed, but I don't think she would understand the reason I laughed. hahahaha
Thanks for reading; I hope you enjoyed it.
