3 days ago we announced SNAPS ... our interface for short form content on hive.
We have since made a number of improvements.
The most recent update is a very seemless ability to share someone else's snaps.
You get to share some thoughts as you do it as well. Add value to the conversation.
There are 4 interfaces for short form content on Hive. We have made it easier to see the content from the people you follow for all 4 of them. One seamless experience.
You could always do it but took leaving the snap ui experience. We just added the menu and made it really easy while staying in the snap experience
There is now a page/tab on everyone's profile for the snaps they have written. You can easily go to a user's profile to see all the short form they have written.
A community owner can turn on this feature and users can write and see all the snaps written in that community which likely apply to the topic of that community.
Vote with is a feature for those who manage accounts for several organizations/companies. Making it so you don't have to log out to vote... you can vote for all the accounts you represent all at once. Now it's available for snaps
You can also see changes if someone makes an edit to their snap.
We now track all the tags you use in your SNAP and we have a trending of the most used tags.
You can click on SNAP TAGS and see other snaps that use that tag.
NOTE: As snaps become more popular and there is more and more history we will have different tame frames of trending.
Added ability to see the other 3 short form content options plus the combined feed on mobile devices
Since we launched we actually added this short form content system. It uses the same approach as the other 3. We have been asked and dBuzz uses posts instead of comments on a container post so it has more impact on following feeds and has more voting issues so we think at this point it would be perhaps better for them to switch than going through the trouble of integrating. Also it's not apparent if they're developing right now.
Too many small things to really denote but the overall look and experience has been much improved since launch a couple days ago.
WHAT'S TO COME?
No promises but admit that you love opening up snaps and seeing all the updates from and
accounts
SIDE NOTE: There has been some questions on this... Technically speaking all 4 use the same mechanism of creating container posts and tracking the comments in those posts as their short form content. We are open to having a completely Hive branded neutral system if the other sites are willing and want go to the hive community to decide.
