HiveSuite

Web3 Authentication, Multi-Wallet Login & Profile Integration

The authentication architecture has been expanded to support a broader range of account types while keeping the existing Hive and Web2 experiences intact.

The implementation is divided across three major layers:

  • Authentication Package
  • Backend Authentication
  • HiveSuite Integration

This layered approach provides a reusable foundation that can support Web3 authentication across Hive-related applications.

1. Authentication Package

Multi-Platform Login Support

The authentication package now supports three primary login categories:

  • Web2
  • Hive
  • Web3

This provides users with greater flexibility when choosing how they want to access the application.

The existing Hive authentication flow remains available while Web3 login introduces wallet-based authentication for users who prefer connecting an EVM-compatible wallet.

Multi-Wallet Support

Support for multiple wallets and account switching has also been added.

Users can now have more than one wallet identity available and switch between supported accounts without requiring a completely separate application session.

This creates an important foundation for users who manage multiple Web3 identities or use different wallets for different purposes.

Web3 Profile Identity

Web3 users can now configure their profile identity with:

  • Profile name
  • Profile avatar

This allows wallet-based accounts to have a recognizable identity inside the application rather than being represented only by a long wallet address.

Web3 Login Toggle

An option has also been introduced to enable or disable Web3 login.

This provides applications with control over whether the Web3 authentication experience should be available to their users.

The configurable approach makes the authentication package more reusable across different Hive ecosystem applications and deployment environments.

2. Backend โ€” Web3 Authentication Infrastructure

Web3 Wallet User Schema

The backend user schema has been expanded with dedicated Web3 wallet fields.

This allows Web3 identity information to be stored alongside existing user authentication information while keeping the account structure organized.

EVM Wallet Signature Verification

Backend-side EVM wallet signature verification has been implemented.

This provides a secure authentication mechanism where the backend can verify that a login request was authorized by the wallet associated with the account.

Signature-based authentication avoids relying solely on a wallet address supplied by the client and provides a proper verification step before establishing the authenticated session.

Web3 Login Endpoint

A dedicated authentication endpoint has been added:

POST /login_web3

This endpoint handles Web3 authentication requests and provides the backend entry point required for wallet-based login.

Profile APIs

Backend APIs have also been added for profile management:

  • Profile save
  • Profile fetch

This allows Web3 profile information to be synchronized between the application and backend.

Together, these backend changes provide the core infrastructure required to support Web3 users throughout the HiveSuite application.

3. HiveSuite Integration

Local Authentication Package Integration

HiveSuite has been linked with the latest local hive-authentication package.

This allows the application to consume the updated authentication functionality directly during development and ensures the Web3 login implementation can be tested alongside the existing Web2 and Hive authentication flows.

Web3 Login & Multi-Wallet Configuration

HiveSuite now integrates:

  • Web3 login
  • Multiple wallet support
  • Account switching
  • Web3 profile configuration

The integration is designed to keep the different authentication methods available without disrupting the existing Hive login experience.

Environment-Based Web3 Login Toggle

Web3 login availability can now be controlled through environment configuration.

This provides flexibility for enabling or disabling Web3 authentication depending on the deployment or application configuration.

It also makes it easier to roll out Web3 authentication gradually without requiring major application-level changes.

Backend Authentication Synchronization

HiveSuite now synchronizes Web3 authentication and profile information with the backend.

This ensures that wallet identity and profile information can remain consistent between the authentication layer, backend services, and the application interface.

First-Time Profile Setup

The first-time user experience has also been improved.

When a new Web3 user signs in, the application can guide the user through the initial profile setup process rather than immediately presenting an incomplete wallet-only identity.

This creates a more approachable onboarding experience for users who may be new to the application.

Multi-Wallet Account Experience

The addition of multi-wallet support is an important step toward a more flexible authentication system.

Different users may maintain separate wallets for different purposes, and developers may also need to test multiple Web3 accounts during application development.

With wallet switching support, HiveSuite can better accommodate these scenarios while keeping authentication and profile information organized.

  • Web2 login
  • Hive login
  • Web3 login
  • Multi-wallet support
  • Account switching
  • Profile synchronization

HiveReactKit โ€” Vote Value & Package Update

Consistent Vote Formatting

A small but useful improvement was also made to vote-value formatting in HiveReactKit.

Vote values are now displayed with exactly 3 decimal places.

Examples:

  • 0.000
  • -0.015

This ensures that vote values remain visually consistent throughout the interface, including very small positive and negative vote values.

Consistent decimal formatting makes financial and reward-related information easier to scan and prevents the interface from displaying different precision levels depending on the size of the vote.

๐Ÿš€ Powering the Hive Ecosystem

  • Continuously improving HiveReactKit with reusable components that make Hive applications richer and more responsive.
  • Building shared infrastructure for media rendering, translations, and smoother community navigation across the Hive ecosystem.
  • Contributing open-source enhancements that improve usability, consistency, and long-term maintainability for Hive frontends using HiveReactKit.
