War room is a movie I watched just of recent but I think it's connected to courageous in the message it's pass across and is the same production Crew. is good actually. In the movie, Elizabeth Jordan, a successful real estate agent, seems to have a good life from the outside, she's married to Tony, a successful businessman, and they have a young daughter named Danielle, but behind all of that, their marriage is already falling apart, Tony has become distant and disrespectful, they argue constantly, and Elizabeth is getting tired of pretending that everything is fine, basically, their home has become a place where neither of them really feels at peace.
And things only get more complicated when Elizabeth meets an elderly woman named Miss Clara, who somehow notices what is happening in her marriage and introduces her to something she calls a "war room," a private place where she goes to pray and talk to God about the problems in her life, Elizabeth initially struggles with the idea, but she eventually decides to stop focusing only on what Tony is doing and start dealing with her own heart and her own actions.
It was the message underneath the whole story that really had me watching this, because War Room isn't only about marriage, it's also about how people respond when something in their life feels completely out of their control, The movie's answer is strongly based on faith and prayer, and that's obviously going to connect with some people more than others, but the idea of stepping back, reflecting on yourself, forgiving, and refusing to let anger control you is something that gives the story more weight than just a normal relationship drama.
The emotional parts of this movie works the most, especially when you start seeing the difference between the way Elizabeth was handling her problems at the beginning and the way she handles them later, Miss Clara's character also adds something special because she isn't there simply to give Elizabeth advice and disappear, her own story and the way she approaches her faith help make the whole "war room" idea feel like something that has actually been part of her life.
The movie isn't really trying to give you some complicated story with twists everywhere, it's more focused on the people and what is happening inside their home, and I the simplicity actually works for the kind of story it's telling, because by the time you get to the later parts, you're not just watching a couple trying to fix a marriage, you're watching people deal with the consequences of the choices they've made.
