Goodday Everyone.
I applied for a job and a few days later, I was called for an interview. I went for the interview, and after everything, they told me that I got the job. I was happy because getting a job is not always easy, especially when you have been searching for one.
After the interview, they gave me the job policy to read and understand. That was when I discovered something interesting about their payment system. The organization pays its workers either daily or monthly. Every staff member is allowed to choose how they want to receive their salary.
At first, I thought it was a good idea. I mean, who wouldn't want to have a choice in how they receive their money? Some people prefer getting paid daily because they need money to take care of their daily needs, while others prefer waiting until the end of the month to receive everything at once.
And just so you know, there is no difference in the total amount you earn. Whether you choose daily or monthly payment, your salary remains the same. If you choose daily payment, your monthly salary is divided by the number of days in that month, and you receive your money daily. But if you choose monthly payment, you receive your full salary at the end of the month.
When I was given the choice, I decided to go with daily payment. As far as I could tell, I was the 7th person in the whole organization to make that choice. I didn't think much about it at the time because I felt it would be more convenient to have money in my hands every day.
Honestly, I enjoyed it during my first month. I could receive my money and take care of whatever I needed without waiting for the end of the month. If I needed to buy something or settle a small expense, I knew I would get paid again the next day.
It felt good at first, and I thought I had made the right decision.
But right now, I don't feel the same way anymore.
Sometimes, I sit down and think about it. How can I be working and getting paid every day, yet still feel like I'm working without pay? Does that even make sense? I know I'm being paid because I receive my money every day, but somehow, it doesn't feel like I'm earning anything.
The problem is that I find it difficult to save money the way I want to. Whenever I receive my daily payment, there is always something to spend it on. It could be transportation, food, or something else I need to take care of. Even when I try to keep some money aside, I may end up spending it because I know another payment is coming the next day.
That is where the problem lies.
I believe someone else could still cope with this system. Maybe daily payment works perfectly for them because they know how to manage their money. Some people are good at saving, no matter how little they earn or how often they receive it.
But for me, it is becoming a problem.
I had to go and request for a change to the monthly payment I was used to ASAP.
So, which would you prefer: daily payment or monthly payments?
