Off for another participation in the Share Your Battle challenge! And what do we have this week? A more embracing theme: dragons!
It's so fun to play with the Dragon team, given its versatility: with quite a few summoners to choose from + the cool dragon monsters + all the monsters of another splinter, the combinations are endless!
Selenia Sky is my personal favourite summoner, and in this week's battle I've used her, together with two other dragon monsters that, although not the most powerful dragons by far, can be extremely useful in some rulesets.
So, off we go!
Rulesets:
- Equal opportunity: all monsters have the opportunity ability
- Explosive weaponry: all monsters have the blast ability
Speed is a crucial stat in this game, and in rulesets like the opportunity one, it's even more important: since the weakest monster is being targeted first, normally the fastest team will kill the oponents even before they're allowed to strike! Pair that with blast, and we definitely need all the speed we can get!
I decided to go with the earth splinter; the mana cap for the battle was not that big, only 20 mana, so here is what I've chosen as my lineup:
Selenia Sky as the summoner, with the boost to my ranged units.
Chicken in first row to burn some damage
Lord Arianthus, the main tank, enough strengh to absorb a ton of damage
Serpentine mystic: I dont see it that much on the battlefield, but love this card. Not that much damage, but decent health, and the slow and affliction abilities; slow was especially useful here.
Spirit of the forest: fast card, protect, and tank heal; and the snipe ability, great for the blast ruleset.
Naga assassin: another awesome card for only 2 mana. Very fast, with a boosted attack from Selenia, and with the backfire ability, which proved handy here!
The low mana cap and the blast ruleset made it a quick battle:
Here, the backfire from the Naga taking some of the Orc's health. I'm normally not lucky with this ability, fortunately it triggered here!
At round three, the Naga finished the rear opponent, and from there only the Golem remained; even with heals, it was a won match, since almost all my team was still alive, apart from the poor chicken. You can see the entire battle here!
See you on the battlefield (and I'll probably be using dragons 😉)!
