I thought I would come back to my regular posting habits after the vacations... but nope, couldn't be further from the truth! I'm still trying to find out how time flies by this quick, maybe the HF will bring that Equilibrium to my side as well.
I guess sharing some photos from the vacations is a great way to say goodbye to the pre-fork Hive. I finally managed to get some more bird photos to my portfolio, and even photographed a couple new species!
@melinda010100... remember these ones? ;) Crazy how last year I was roaming the forests trying to get decent photos of these magpies, and now they were jumping around in the lawn in front of the house where I was staying!
I lost count to how many I've seen, and still think the photos could be a lot better!
Magpies weren't the only species I've revisited here. Great flamingos showed up as well, even at the golden hour!
I've practiced my skills with flying birds as well. The result? Crap, way more often than not. Can't tell if it's a camera problem, my lack of skill, or both. Luckily, pied avocets were all over this area, and there were plenty of photo opportunities.
Apart from these water birds, had a great surprise, again in the lawns near the holiday's house. Can anyone recognize this one?
A hoopoe!! They normally only come to Portugal for the warmer months, but there's a small breeding population, especially here in the south. I had seen her (os a cousin) flying, but I would never imagine I would be able to see her foraging for food so close!
I've seen we have another funny theme to his week's SMAP; hope to join in on the fun again! And since I doubt I'll have that much free time before the HF... see you on the other side! 😉
