Some ghost scarecrows in the strawberry fields?
Strawberry farming is a costly and an intensive business and apart from risky weather, hail storms and such, one also has to take care of nature's opportunists and in this case it is birds, as they can decimate a field within hours.
Scarecrows are the best defense against the predators, but it certainly does not have to be the normal type of scarecrows, such as a broomstick, some grass and a hat.
No, some artist has decided to take scarecrows to another level here.
Let's have a look!
This is the sign at the entrance to the place.
There is also a large and popular restaurant on the premises, but I want to concentrate on the strawberry field!

No bird will land here in this "busy" field!

We certainly live in a very interesting place here in the Western Cape Province and there is so much to see. During our two months here, we have explored and found many amazing places.
But the good news is that there is so much more to see once we start to venture out to all of the other areas.
