Happily "Sally" the Egyptian goose was eating until disaster approached to destroy this lovely scene!
Pandemonium means panic and come to see what a Hawk can create!
A disturbance of the peace as there are many birds nesting now so that their babies can be born in Spring. This is necessary so that the youngsters will have Spring, Summer and Autumn to build up strength to survive our next Winter.
A Pied Crow above came over screaming the alarm; "Hawk, hawk, hawk"!
Sally that you saw happily eating in the first picture turned her head to see what the crow and I saw!
Whoosh! Bucket sent flying, she took off almost straight up. Way too fast for my camera!
Yes indeed, it looked like a Yellow Billed Kite, a renowned nest raider!
Kites are of the Hawk family!
Closer and closer the Hawk came, but something changed his mind!
Sally had somehow warned our warrior Harry and they were up high on a street lamp post waiting for Mr. Hawk!
So, the Kite thought better of it and continued on his way!
But I can tell you this!
That Kite now knows that there are nests here and I can guarantee that he will be back.
Kites are clever hunters and he will sneak in to come and sit in one of the densely leafed oak trees here.
Then he will watch and wait for a chance to swoop down at the speed of a bullet to collect his prey.
Spring starts on the 1st of September and it is time for me to play watchdog again 😁 🐶
