Early, as spring starts officially on the first day of September.

The Carpenter bee above is not wet, as it is the sunlight that glimmers on it's body.

In here I will show you some of my first signs of spring's advancements, but I am a bit confused about the timing of the seasons. According to the insects in here, spring has started already, way too early.
In fact, I picked it up last year and at the time I thought that it was just a little bit out of the ordinary, but no.
Here it is again and I at this stage, really don't know what to make of it.
In any case, come and look at what I found.

At first Marty, our rescued butterfly was awake and Marian had to feed him before we went out.

This is a female Carpenter bee (Xylocopa caffra) and she was off to another flower.

Obviously I had to jump as my camera followed her :)

This small mountain stream was running strong after the week's rain and the water was fresh, crispy and clean.

I took these photos of the dragonflies on the 16th of July and they were in fact my first sighting of the approaching Spring season.
Way too early for dragonflies, as they are only supposed to appear in late September.

They have my nickname, as my mom called me a Nomad. These are Nomad Dragonflies (Sympetrum fonscolombii)

They are only supposed to appear in October and there were many of them around.

Confusing isn't it? Just to think how the season times are changing in front of our eyes. The rules were all thrown out of the window, as even still supposed to be in winter, the fruit trees have started to blossom. So what does all of this mean? For one thing, we will have to go back to the drawing board, to start again afresh, as most of the established data in the books and online have become out of date.
I have it in black and white that the dragonflies appear in October and here I have evidence that they appear in July!

Now July is reckoned as our coldest month and we know that dragonflies and most other insects don't like the cold. Yet, here they are.
They have established that the world is turning faster and I wonder if this would have something to do with what we call global warming?
What do you think?

Finally: They reckon that Spring is the season of love.
Here is a song called Time of the Season by the Zombies, released in 1968.

Enjoy!

And That's All Friends.
