Humor is good for the soul, and we hope that this new year will be much better than the old year for everyone.

An Egyptian goose with a Sacred Ibis partner? What would the babies look like? :))
Things are hardly ever what they seem to be after a first glance, but a closer look makes life so interesting. So, we went to a lower part of the river that runs past our house and as we arrived, I saw that things were still looking a bit befuddled after the latest flood. There was still some water flowing over the wider area, and the river has still not settled down into its normal course.
But the birds seem to love it, as the water in the grass delivers many earth worms, and the birds can also clean themselves in the flowing water.
So come and have a deeper look at what happened.
This below was when I at first saw a couple of Egyptian geese and you can see that the one was bathing.
Suddenly some Sacred Ibis birds also appeared on the scene.
A third Ibis walked up to the one goose.
And this is the tag picture, showing the real story, as they were not partners.
To prove it, the goose walked back to collect its partner.
And then they were on their way home.
The Ibises also decided to leave, but they eventually flew in a different direction.
There you can see them flying with a rainy painted sky in the background.
In 12 months, things can change drastically, and at times we feel that we are floating up and down on time's waves. So many start a new year with a list of new year's resolutions, but sadly they are all forgotten during the first quarter of the year. Hang loose and let things be, seems to be nature's lesson in this show of the birds. They can't control their tomorrows, and neither can we. But we pride ourselves to be much more intelligent than the birds and then we fiddle with future plans to benefit ourselves. Nothing wrong with that, but so many times all future plans disappear when life happens. We see so many who have lost everything in floods and wildfires as their homes and even cars were destroyed by the acts of nature.
What about their future plans?
The best for us is to make sure that we save up funds to cover us during emergencies, instead of spending hard earned money on whatever our eyes see. Every December great profits are made by businesses, and every Januworry is indeed that. Filled with worries on how to survive and the loan sharks keep on smiling.
