What an unexpected sight when we entered the flea market yesterday morning. A dog in a wheelchair.
The dog's name is Tripod, as he only has three legs and the kind gentleman adopted Tripod as his remaining life's work.
Tripod was tied up behind a shack in a township and as he escaped he was run over by a taxi, losing his leg in the process. So the guy adopted him and now Tripod is raising funds to help other dogs with disabilities.
This is the fleamarket that we visited in a nice open municipal park.
Tripod certainly enjoys great care and his life is made as good as can be with his disabilty.
Of course Marian had to make a donation and Tripod was seated at a restaurant table.
I asked the gentleman if I could take photos and he agreed
After he was fed, Tripod was allowed a roll in the grass.
As Marian touched Tripod, it brought some thoughts to me about our own lives.
So why did I tell you this story today?
Well, there are many of us that are unsure and some even fear their retirement days. The question is what am I going to do when I am retired?
The care of this gentleman is a perfect example of what we can do, as retirement forms the ideal opprtunity to follow the love in our hearts.
A time to do what we have always wanted to do and if it includes love and care all the better, as it will make us feel appreciated.
Think about it!
So whenever you visit the Western Cape Province notify me and I will give you the gentleman's contact number to make a donation to Tripod directly to him!
And That's All Friends!
Note: All photos are my own and taken with a Canon Powershot SX60HS Bridge camera.
We hope that you will benefit in your own deliberations about your retirement from this story and that you enjoyed the love and care that was shown here.
