I presume a farm in an urban area will be acceptable in Urban Exploration?
Greetings to all and this is my first post in here, breaking new ground as they say.
This lovely farm house was built in the old original colonial style. The house has a view of the ocean and of course also a view of the mountains at the back. We popped in here at the farm's restaurant for a coffee and a quick bite to eat.
I will show you some sights here.
Spraying of the vines was in progress when we arrived.
This is the road leading up to the house.
A lovely sunshine spot to sit and eat with a great view at the end.
This is the view and you can see a swimming pool below that big tree.
As I took a photo of the view one of the farm's chickens came flying over.
It was in fact a Blue Crane bird (Grus paradisea)
Here was another of the farm's animals digging for worms.
This is an African Hoopoe bird (Upupa africana)
As we left, the tractor appeared and the driver posed with a smile.
Finally, this was the view on our way out of the farm.
There are many historic little towns in the Western Cape area of South Africa and some of the towns, like our town has expanded over the years. Land was needed for residential development and also for new businesses. So the closest farms to the towns were bought and converted into residential zones. It is not uncommon to see tractors and other farming machines on the roads in town in between all of the modern cars. Many houses in the town have their own fruit and nut trees and of course also vegetable patches, so I think that we live a semi agricultural existence in the towns.
And That's All Friends!
