Now what on earth could "Chippie" have to do with a #featheredfriends story? It's for birds isn't it?
We wish all Hivers a Happy Friday and a good weekend!
Right, the storm winds yesterday or should I say a particular wind called the "Black South Easter" reached speeds of over 200 kilometers per hour in some areas over the past 48 hours here in the Western Cape Province of South Africa.
So, we had some repair work to do and let me show you what happened!
"Chippie" works at this timber supply store and we had to come and buy materials here.
But as I stopped the car we saw something else!
I saw "Mac Mcrowintyre and his wife sitting in a field opposite the store!
He is a cousin of the comedian "Michael McIntyre"
A soft rain was falling and I could hear the lady crow saying to her husband; "Mac, they are sitting in the dry luxury of their car, go and ask them for an umbrella"!
"Right" Mac said; let me put on my persuasion suit"
"I say cuz" Mac said as he strutted towards our car, "would you perhaps have a spare umbrella laying around"?
"Nope", "No luck"? "This is my death stare China and when you see some serious poop on your car one morning, you will know that I have paid you a friendly visit"!
"Come babe", Mac said; "Let's wander off with our dignity intact and ignore these schmucks that cannot even fly"!
And That's All Friends!
Just trying to get a smile here as life over here is very wet and our friend, the wind has made things a bit difficult for many people and animals over here. The roads contractor that lives next door spent the whole day cutting and towing uprooted trees that fell and blocked some roads.
But, as they say, life goes on and we have to simply try to do the best that we can under the circumstances. Many poor persons that live in shacks have either lost their homes to the wind, or they were flooded.
This year 2020 has certainly pushed all of us across the world to new limits.
To everyone that faces one or another battle out here on Hive, we wish you strength and may the sun shine on your paths in this life again!
