Alcohol is a kind of drug but socially acceptable drug. Just a drug, alcohol and be abused and can be addicted to. Causes of addiction can range from one reason to another but I will mention some
1) Some people are addicted to alcohol because they started drinking at a very early stage. They are so used to the consumption of alcohol that they can't do with it again.
2) Some people get addicted to alcohol because they are facing one kind of depression or the other and the only way they feel they can over come the depression is through drinking alcohol excessively and that can lead to addiction.
3) Peer pressure/influence: people can get addicted to alcohol because of influence or pressure from there peers to drink alcohol.
4) Environment: the kind of environment some people are living make them to start drinking alcohol and in turn get addicted to it.
5) Some people started drinking alcohol for confidence boost and can't get confidence without drinking alcohol which can lead to adduction.
6) Social life: too much social life like going to night parties, club and the likes can make someone start and later get addicted to alcohol consumption.
