Hi bloggers and community members. It’s the weekend, and I decided to spend some time with my friends. The weather is great this weekend, so we decided to hang out and have dinner at a place called a “warkop" or local coffee shop which is pretty busy every day.
This place is unique not only because of its food and drinks, but also because of the unique way they prepare the drinks—it really catches your attention. They make interesting drinks using an open kitchen setup like this.
They have several food stalls and a variety of drinks, ranging from tea and coffee to hot beverages like ginger tea and others. We ordered a few dishes and drinks. For food, we ordered steamed dim sum, gohyong, fried noodles, and taichan satay.
Their chicken dim sum is quite meaty and tender; it has a savory, rich flavor, and the spicy sambal dipping sauce makes it perfect for gatherings like this.
Although the gohyong was a bit darker in color, it tasted quite good; it consists of minced chicken wrapped in dim sum wrappers and deep-fried.
For my drink, I ordered a warm ginger tea. This ginger drink is a traditional Indonesian beverage made by boiling ginger and other spices, then mixing it with sweetened condensed milk and lemongrass stalks. It’s warm and delicious, especially when enjoyed in the evening.
Okay, that’s all for this weekend. Thank you.
