Ikare Akoko is a place to be.

This moment is something I can't forget. The Poliomyelitis Awareness Programme makes me remember Ikare Akoko.

We did this awareness programme to sensitize people about polio. Poliomyelitis is not curable but it is preventable, usually through the use of vaccines.

After participating in the programme, my belief and mindset about a cure for polio vanished.

I used to think that poio had a cure not until the sad reality hit me. The only safe route is vaccination.

Vaccinate your kids now to prevent polio virus infection.

Here I was, among a group of actors, trying to make everyone aware of polio.

Hmmm! Let's not go too far—let me talk about my stay in Ikare Akoko.

Truthfully, I feel Ikare is a town and not a village. Though when I asked my friends, they still called it a village. They say that there are too many bushes and undeveloped areas.

However, my perspective is not the same as theirs. Hmm! I see that they have more people on the other side. The whole of Ikare may be referred to as a town, but our immediate environment is a village. Though we didn't have a clear view of its surroundings, one would have appreciated its vegetation and all.

In the morning, Ikare welcomes us with cold weather and beautiful foggy clouds that blend with the mountains.

In addition, Ikare also welcomes us with a challenging change in climatic conditions, which suit a village.

Ikare is located in a lowland—no dispute about that. However, there are mountains. Many, many mountainous areas.

Ondo State is indeed blessed.

My stay in Ikare Akoko was a wonderful one. My camping, though it inhibited my view of the surroundings, allowed me to make friends. I socialised and I was extremely happy.

Every morning was filled with early morning recitations, exercises, and prayers. Moral talks were also included.

At the Man O' War area, we used different devices for training. It was beautiful, I must say, and I felt over the moon.

At Ikare, I made a whole new family. I learned new languages and I also built my spiritual life.

We talked about how your early twenties really suck hard. It's funny that we were able to relate to one another—until a father of two said to us, "Early twenties are still better. Try your late twenties."

Family pressure will make you want to work more and more. And if one is not with an understanding wife or a working wife, one could end up divorced.
