Hola, querido hiver.
Y vuelta a empezar.

Hi, dear hiver.
The first week of the year has been an extension of the last week of the previous year: I am still sick with the flu. This version is long and tiresome, but there is no choice but to take care of yourself as much as possible and to be patient in the hope that it will soon pass. There's no point in getting sick, nor is there any way of bringing the process forward. In fact, as soon as I feel a bit better and get a bit more active than usual, I pay for it the next day in the form of exhaustion. And then it's back to square one.
This situation gives meaning to the theme of my Diary for Stoics for January, the search for clarity of mind. There you have it, how easy it is to write and how difficult it is to bring to our reality. Especially if you feel your head congested with snot, as well as your chest and throat.
But it is my duty to bow to the circumstances. It is a lesson to add to the arsenal of knowledge to recognise that I have no mastery even over my own body. A bug invisible to the eye is capable of knocking us down and keeping us on the verge of collapse for weeks without our being able to remedy it, or at most ease the pain a little.
Life goes on on the other side of the window, even the sun insists on coming out to remind us of it and bring hope to the aching body. I have taken the opportunity to breathe fresh air, renewed, and it has certainly done me good. Patience, I hope there is no lack of it.
Until the next publication. In the meantime, take care!
