The years don't come alone | Los años no vienen solos. Mi informe de Actifit: agosto 6 2026
It’s not the first time, and honestly, it scares me a little. I still haven’t gone to get it checked out… As always, I put off the important things. I figure it must be because I spend so many hours resting my hand on a table in front of the computer, and when I’m suddenly exposed to cold temperatures, my fingertips kind of freeze up. Also, the handlebars on my bike have a silicone cover with little bumps that dig into your hand when you’re not wearing gloves. That kind of numbs the area and cuts off blood circulation. Sometimes it’s really painful because, until the blood flows back down to my fingertips, it feels like all the arteries in my hand are tearing. I’ll keep you posted on how this situation is progressing for me these days.
Todavía no me lo he hecho ver...
Despite what happened, we trained as usual. There was a lot of rain in the province of Buenos Aires, but we still did a “Villa María” with our friend El Whass. We did a series of one-on-one drills in the middle and then headed back to the rancho to continue our day. In Argentina, we affectionately call our homes “ranchos.” Ranchos are very humble and makeshift rural dwellings.
On Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays, we spend an hour at the gym with friends, and yesterday, we finally did something we’d been talking about for a while: going out for a choripán. No bringing our own meat or anything like that. The idea was to eat choripán. Choripán is a typical Argentine dish, and you’ll find it in many places. At this point in our lives, we only eat it occasionally because it’s high in fat—and honestly, I like it, but it doesn’t agree with me very well. And as I write this, I’m fasting because I ate some and also washed it down with a sweet patero wine, which didn’t sit well with me. But as they say, you can’t take back what’s already been done. The interesting part was getting together with friends. I set up ChatGPT on three of their cell phones, and they were chatting with female voices that answered all their questions. My 70-year-old friend Whasss was amazed by the technology. Imagine the conspiracy theories that came out of that conversation. That they’ll take over the world, that no one will be able to work at all because machines will do everything, and we’ll live on a stipend that some global entity or government will give us. And I could go on… 🤣
Y puedo seguir... 🤣
I’m also aware that the problem isn’t the choripán or the alcoholic drinks. The issue is overindulgence, and when your body isn’t used to it, it lets you know. Our host brought us coffee a little early, as if to hint that it was time for us to head home. But after the coffee, we stayed seated, laughing nonstop, until we finished all the beer and wine they’d brought. Patero wine is a treacherous wine because it’s sweet and tempts you to drink it. The problem is when you try to get up 🤣.
So there you have it, dear friends and colleagues in the ecosystem. We keep living life to the fullest and making our way as we go. Hopefully, the issue with my hands is minor and temporary, and when the next gathering comes around, I’ll have better control over what I eat.
Have a great day, everyone 🧉.
