Demostracionde calistenia en el Malecón

El día de ayer fue una jornada memorable. Los atletas del parque de barras Las Llaves y yo tuvimos el honor de participar en la gran actividad que se organizó en el Malecón de Puerto Cabello, conmemorando la histórica Toma de Puerto Cabello. Fue un evento vibrante que reunió a diversas disciplinas deportivas y de bienestar, creando un ambiente de celebración y actividad física. Había stands de gimnasios locales, demostraciones de CrossFit, exhibiciones de natacióny clases de bailoterapia. Queríamos asegurarnos de que la Calistenia estuviera bien representada, mostrando al público la fuerza y la belleza de nuestro deporte. Por eso, desde el momento en que llegamos, nos enfocamos en prepararnos para dar una demostración impactante.
Yesterday was a memorable day. The athletes of the Las Llaves bar park and I had the honor of participating in the great activity that was organized in the Malecón de Puerto Cabello, commemorating the historic Take of Puerto Cabello. It was a vibrant event that brought together various sports and wellness disciplines, creating an atmosphere of celebration and physical activity. There were local gym stands, CrossFit demonstrations, swimming shows and dance therapy classes. We wanted to make sure that Calisthenic was well represented, showing the public the strength and beauty of our sport. That's why, from the moment we arrived, we focused on preparing to give a shocking demonstration.
Nuestra llegada al lugar fue, de por sí, una exhibición. En lugar de limitarnos a observar, comenzamos a calentar de inmediato para ponernos a tono. Decidimos hacerlo con movimientos que destacaran nuestra habilidad y control corporal: ejecutamos el Pino (parada de manos) para activar los hombros y el equilibrio, y realizamos la Plancha o Plank(manteniendo el cuerpo recto y en tensión) para calentar el núcleo y demostrar nuestra resistencia. El objetivo era claro: despertar la curiosidad de los asistentes y dejarles claro de qué se trata la Calistenia. Afortunadamente, no estaba solo; conté con el invaluable apoyo de dos atletas muy talentosos del parque de barras Maradona, además de otros amigos que se unieron espontáneamente a la actividad, reforzando nuestro equipo.
Our arrival at the place was, in itself, an exhibition. Instead of just observing, we start warming up immediately to get in tune. We decided to do it with movements that will highlight our ability and body control: we run the Pino (hand stop) to activate the shoulders and balance, and we perform the Plancha or Plank (keeping the body straight and in tension) to warm up the core and demonstrate our resistance. The objective was clear: to arouse the curiosity of the attendees and make it clear to them what Calisthenia is about. Fortunately, I was not alone; I had the invaluable support of two very talented athletes from the Maradona bar park, in addition to other friends who spontaneously joined the activity, reinforcing our team.
La energía de la multitud en el Malecón fue increíblemente motivadora. Ver tantas personas reunidas por el deporte, desde el ejercicio funcional de alta intensidad hasta la relajante natación, nos impulsó a dar lo mejor. Nuestro grupo, compuesto por atletas de distintos parques, demostró que la Calistenia es una disciplina accesible, espectacular y que fomenta una gran hermandad. Este evento no solo fue una oportunidad para honrar la historia de nuestra ciudad, sino también para compartir nuestra pasión y mostrar cómo, solo con el peso de nuestro cuerpo, podemos alcanzar niveles de fuerza y habilidad extraordinarios. Fue un verdadero éxito y una gran experiencia de unión.
The energy of the crowd on the Malecón was incredibly motivating. Seeing so many people gathered by the sport, from high-intensity functional exercise to relaxing swimming, pushed us to give our best. Our group, composed of athletes from different parks, demonstrated that Calisthenis is an accessible, spectacular discipline that encourages a great brotherhood. This event was not only an opportunity to honor the history of our city, but also to share our passion and show how, only with the weight of our body, we can reach extraordinary levels of strength and skill. It was a real success and a great experience of union.
