After discovering orders prohibiting fire near the prototype ship, I eliminated the remaining guards near Admiral Nadir's quarters. Realizing I lacked throwing knives to ignite the ship, I scavenged them from fallen guards, set the vessel ablaze, and lured Nadir outside. Instead of a stealth kill, I challenged Nadir to open combat, defeated him, and confirmed the kill to retrieve a crucial letter.
I uncovered explicit written orders detailing Admiral Nadir’s extreme caution regarding his prized prototype ship, specifically highlighting his strict prohibition against open flames anywhere near the vessel.
The directive made it clear that any guard caught bringing a torch near the ship would forfeit their wages and spend a miserable week in the garrison, which immediately signaled to me that the prototype ship was his ultimate vulnerability.
With this vital intelligence in mind, I crept closer to Nadir's personal quarters, where a couple of sentries still stood watch. Moving through the cover of the environment, I positioned myself carefully, making sure not to alert the admiral in his secluded room.
I targeted the final two guards standing outside, dropping them both in rapid succession before they could raise an alarm or compromise my position.
With the immediate perimeter completely cleared, the time had finally come to execute my plan to lure Admiral Nadir out from behind his locked doors. My objective was to burn the prototype ship to create an irresistible distraction that would force him out into the open.
I made my way over to the vessel, finding it surprisingly completely unguarded on the deck. However, just as I prepared to ignite the oil pots placed around the structure, I realized I had completely exhausted my supply of throwing knives during the earlier battles in the camp.
Without a ranged weapon to safely detonate the flammable pots from a distance, I was forced to temporarily abort the sabotage and double back into the heart of the outpost to search for ammunition.
I backtracked through the quieted camp, carefully searching the bodies of the guards, scavenged knives from my earlier kills, and returned to hurl a blade into the vessel, setting the entire prototype ablaze.
The raging fire forced Admiral Nadir to break his lockup and emerge in a panic, calling for non-existent guards to secure the area. Rather than taking him down from the shadows, I stepped into the open and challenged the skilled naval commander face-to-face.
Nadir accepted the challenge, boasting of his experience over thousands of seamen, but I reminded him that he was no longer on the open ocean. As he lunged forward with heavy, aggressive strikes, I easily dodged his attacks, side-stepping his slashes while maintaining complete control of the duel.
After parrying his heavy strikes and countering his attacks, I delivered a powerful kick that sent him stumbling backward onto the docks, before swiftly stepping in to drive my hidden blade deep into his torso.
With the admiral dead, I performed a formal kill confirmation and searched his coat before recovering a crucial letter from Al-Mardikhwar regarding stolen shipments intended for Turkic mercenaries. With Nadir dead and critical evidence in hand, I prepared to return to Fuladh to plan our next move.
Until next time, happy gaming.
